(More customer reviews)My daughter received this from her godmother when she 6 1/2 and was so excited by the picture on the box, she was inspired to put it together herself. She was so proud of herself, and saw herself as a builder--a whole new light for my stereotypical play-with-dolls/dress up girl. Then she got to play with the mermaid prince and princess who are still, 1.5 years later very popular, especially in the bath. It was her favorite Christmas present and the experience she chose to write about in her 1st grade journal. That being said, her godmother would NOT have given it to her at the current price >$100. I'm sure it cost about $30 at the time. for $30 it is a great deal. But I would not say it's worth over $50 in terms of the pieces included, since she does not take it apart and build other, invented, stuff continuously the way my 5 year old son does with his legos; it's more of a backdrop for the dramas enacted by the figures.
