(More customer reviews)Alright, the sculpt is pretty cool. It looks like the actor who'll play Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones, and the pattern in his shirt is pretty detailed. Then the poncho that's actually like PVC material has the folds and over-all look of real cloth (though scaled down to size). But where this one falls a little short is where the Obi Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu figures excel - the lightsaber. The very first Star Wars figures ever made had flimsy little lightsabers that telescoped out of the figure's right arm. Luke Skywalker, Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, they all had a lightsaber that could slide up into their arm. It didn't work. So why go back to the technology now, in the days of the absolutely awesome metal lightsaber hilts with removable beams? The other accessories aren't so bad. The gun (blaster) is a little odd looking, but that's the fault of the questionable design work of the prequels, not the toy. A cool feature is a little storage box in which you can put the gun. On the box is a locking mechanism that involves a tiny hunk of metal that, when near the magnet in Anakin's left hand, unlocks to send the lid of the box springing open. The gun itself has some metal in the handle to interact with Anakin's magnet, but it's not nearly as impressive as they'd like it to be (oh wow, Anakin can use "The Force" to pull a gun a sixth of an inch through the air into his hand!).
To sum it up, I'd say this figure's for the completist. The telescoping lightsaber interferes with the sculpt (Anakin's arm having to stick out completely straight, not the mention the bulky saber hilt), and, fully extended, the saber itself is none too impressive. Kid OR adult would probably be best advised to hold out for the other yet-to-be-released Anakin figure with the cooler metal lightsabers (yes, plural, the other one has TWO!). Not bad, but there's better in the line.
