While they are a cute surprise and a fun way to expand your minifigure collection, they are by no means worth more than a few dollars, especially in the blind packaging, unless you are a collector and don't mind paying double or triple the original price for a mint package. Please be aware that this seller is charging four dollars for shipping PER FIGURE, which means the total for four of them is twenty-seven dollars, with sixteen dollars for the shipping cost alone. This jacks up the cost per figure well over MSRP and turns a small stocking-stuffer item into a pricey trinket. Lego items are prone to scalping this time of year (it is worse on the advent calendars) and buyers can be particularly susceptible to this kind of hidden cost.
Also, the minifigure series tends to have a lot of repeats. If your child wants a certain minifigure, you may be better off buying a figure that has been opened already and wrapping it yourself for the surprise factor. Don't buy a big bunch expecting to have a good selection of figures.
