(More customer reviews)Armed with cash from the grandparents, my two year old daughter chose this Duplo tractor set to blow her money on. I had my reservations. It's not that it's a bad set, but at retail price, you're paying a lot for a set that has little versatility. Of course, since she has no concept of money, my daughter doesn't seem to mind.
The tractor is essentially a one-piece affair with seating for one Duplo character and a loader that can be clipped on or removed and has three stationary positions when attached. The trailer clips onto the tractor or any other Duplo vehicle, and has a green bed for carting blocks or whatnot (which can be removed to allow room for stacking standard Duplo pieces). Included also are a farmer (adult male), a dalmation, and a pitchfork which can be placed into the farmer's hand. Then there are four 2x2 dot blocks in two shades of yellow.
My daughter has played with this set, in conjuction with her wide array of basic block sets, almost constantly since she brought it home. It's renewed her interest in all her Legos, which had been waning a bit. Because it's brought a fresh perspective to the old toys, the tractor set turned out to be money well-spent in terms of entertainment value for us.
This set, for those concerned with country of origin, is made in Denmark, Hungary, China and the Czech Republic.
