(More customer reviews)Out of the box this set not only had a defective motor but also had a crushed battery compartment. We looked up a customer service number and now that the Erector sets are made in China and distributed in France there is only 1 number listed in Texas. Guess what? It doesn't work so I had to call Canada to get a different number for someone who told me the only way to get replacement parts is to email some guy at meccane (who will not reply) and then wait a "couple of weeks". Enough already, I will be returning the set today and will have to deal with the crying child who now has no birthday set. Did I mention the second I said I put the motor together they cut me off and said oh its defective so obviously they knew about the problem!!! Sad sad sad
